[コメント]Northwave（ノースウェーブ）は、1980年代初頭イタリア北東部ベネト州にあるモンテベルーナという街でシューズOEMメーカーとして創業されました。モンテベルーナ産地の歴史は古く、ベネチア共和国時代までさかのぼります。この街は、古くから登山客でにぎわう街で、耐久性、信頼性、高機能が要求される登山靴の生産で靴職人の町として栄え、今では品質の高いシューズブランドと、イタリアでも有数の靴製造工場がある都市として世界的に有名です。この歴史ある靴職人の街モンテベルーナから 1991年にスノーボードシューズブランドとしてノースウェーブは誕生しました。スノーボードシューズの開発時にエスプレッソはアフタースノーをコンセプトにスノーボードシューズのソールにスニーカーのアッパーを搭載し誕生しました。今回の復刻は大ブレイクした90年代の発売当初の雰囲気そのままに、軽量化された特徴的な丸っこいフォルムとクラシカルなスウェードレザーがポイントです。

[Comment] Northwave was created in the 1980s. It was initially founded as a shoe OEM manufacturer in the town of Montebelluna in Veneto, northeastern Italy. The Montebelluna production area has a long history, dating back to the days of the Venetian Republic. This town has been bustling with mountain climbers since ancient times, and has prospered as a town of shoe craftsmen who produce mountain climbing shoes that require durability, reliability, and high functionality.Nowadays, they are home to high-quality shoe brands and one of Italy's leading shoemakers. The city is world-famous for its shoe manufacturing factories. Northwave was born in 1991 as a snowboarding shoe brand from Montebelluna, the historic shoemaker town. When developing snowboarding shoes, Espresso was created by incorporating the upper of a sneaker into the sole of a snowboarding shoe with the concept of after-snow. This reprint maintains the atmosphere of its big hit in the 90's when it was first released, with its characteristic lightweight round shape and classic suede leather as its main points.
